7 unexpected ways to cook on the Cobb... number 4 will blow your mind!

The Cobb cooker is an incredible cooking device that allows you to cook just about anything. That’s what the company claim and that’s what we’ve been putting to the test, first hand, in Mauritius.

You probably wouldn’t expect to put anything on a grill besides a couple of sausages or a big juicy steak, but the Cobb is capable of so much more, and if you get your hands on the right accompanying accessories, you can achieve just about anything.

Here are 7 unexpected ways to cook on your Cobb:

1. Pizza

Who doesn’t love Pizza? With your favourite toppings, this meal is always a winner. The Cobb Pro Black is your cooker of choice if you’re an avid pizza maker. Even if you’ve never made a pizza before, you’ll be shocked at how easy it. For this meal, you’ll need to get your hands on the Fenced Roast Rack and the Pizza Stone. Simply heat the stone that’s been placed on the rack within the cooker, and in just 15 minutes, you can pop your base and toppings in. Close the lid of the cooker, wait another 15 minutes, and dinner is served!

2. A full English breakfast

Eggs? Check. Bacon? Check. Beans and toast? Check-check.

Gather your ingredients and throw them onto the Frying Pan or the Supreme Frying Pan (depending on which Cobb cooker your own) and cook it as if you were in front of your stovetop in the kitchen. But you’re not in your kitchen... you’re on the beach with your toes in the sand. A little crabs walks by, he’s after your breakfast! Best you eat quickly so you don’t have to share your grub.

3. Bread

With the Bread Tin, you can actually make more than just bread. How about a cake? Absolutely! We once made a Gateau Banane (Banana loaf) and it was sensational! For this job, you can use either of the Cobb cookers along with the Fenced Roast Rack or the Supreme Fenced Roast Rack paired up with the Bread Tin.

4. Coffee

You’ve gone camping and cleverly taken your lightweight Cobb along with you. Why pass on your caffeine fix during an outdoor experience when you don’t have to? Coffee, or just about any hot beverage for that matter, can be prepared on the Cobb with the Cobb Kettle. It comes with two mugs, an extension and a carry bag. The Venturi technology allows for hot air to be pushed through the middle funnel of the kettle, heating and boiling the contents quickly.

A coffee a day keeps the grumpy away!

5. Gateau Laboue (Chocolate fondant)

Already featured in our previous blog post, this is a delectable dessert and will have your guests begging for seconds. This can easily be prepared from start to finish using the Cobb Pro Black, Wok and the Fenced Roast Rack. The even better news about making dessert on the Cobb is that the coals burn for so long, you can easily make your lunch on the cooker beforehand and still have enough heat to create this masterpiece!

6. Pie

There is nothing quite like a warm hearty pie is there? You can literally fill the pastry with whatever suits your fancy. This meal can be created with either the Cobb Pro Black or the Cobb Supreme along with its matching Fenced Roast Rack or the Supreme Fenced Roast Rack.

This simple recipe for CHEESE AND SUN-DRIED TOMATO PIES serves 4, so you’ll have to invite your neighbour over to enjoy this one with you.

7. Chilli Sauce

Chilli forms part of the foundation of our beautiful island. Some love it, some can’t go near it, but it’s universally agreed that homemade is best! Chilli sauce on the Cobb? Big YES! This recipe doesn’t require any additional accessories besides the Cobb cooker itself. You just need to get your hands on some damp smoking chips and you will have fresh chilli sauce in less than an hour.

This is just the tip of the iceberg (or volcano in the case of the Cobb) when it comes to cooking. This cooker is practically limitless and we can't wait to try new recipes, what do you think we should try next? Pop us a message on Facebook and let us know
